Prof. Nurul Widiastuti, Ph.D., is a full professor in membrane chemistry and adsorption. She got her bachelor’s degree from Department of Chemistry ITS, master’s degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Ph.D. degree from Curtin University, Australia.

Prof. Nurul concentrates her research on membrane and surface sciences and their application. These include but are not limited to the adsorption process on porous materials, gas separation, hydrogen storage, CO2 capture, and fuel cell. In environmental point of view, she also actively works in water and wastewater treatment using adsorption and membrane technology. Prof. Nurul authored publications (as the first author or corresponding author) in various reputable journals, such as Desalination, RSC advances, Advances Material Letters, Membranes, Chemical Engineering Research and Design, etc.

Prof. Nurul has a long and mature experience in curriculum development, specifically in higher education institutions. During her career, she has served in various positions in the curriculum development bureau at ITS. She also actively gave talks on curriculum development in various universities in Indonesia. She just completed her term as Deputy Chancellor I for Academics at Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK), and is now returning as a full professor in the Department of Chemistry.
