Lukman Atmaja, Ph.D. is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, concentrating on physical chemistry. He got his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Department of Chemistry Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Birmingham, UK.

Lukman Atmaja Ph.D focuses his research on the development of membrane materials for direct methanol fuel cells as well as the development of polymer-based materials for various applications. Besides the two-mainstream works, he also concentrates his research on halal products, specifically for producing fish gelatine. The later work allows him to produce a “ready-to-use product” implemented from his research findings. He authored publications in various reputable journals, such as RSC advances, Chemical Sciences, Defect and Diffusion Forum, Journal of Membrane Science and Research, etc.

Besides being active in academia, Lukman Atmaja, Ph.D., is also actively involved in community services, especially sharing his research findings and expertise for the good of society. He actively trains some coastal communities to produce chitosan and/or fish gelatine from shrimp shells or fish bone waste. He also actively gives talks and training on teaching media and data sharing to various universities and communities in Indonesia.
