Dr. Afifah Rosyidah, M.Si. is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry. She got her bachelor’s degree from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), while she got her master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB).

Dr. Afifah focuses her research on the development of Aurivillius oxide, which includes the engineering of the oxide and the study of the defect in the materials. Furthermore, the application of Aurivillius oxide for the electronics industry is also her interest. Dr. Afifah Rosyidah actively published papers in reputable journals such as the Journal of Chinese Chemical Society, Indonesian Journal of Chemistry, Nano-Structure & Nano-Objects, etc. In addition to research papers, she also actively published community service-typed papers, which showed her interest and her activities in community services, a grass-roots activity where she can implement her research findings into society.

Dr. Afifah is, indeed, actively involved in community service activities. She provides training to several communities about food processing and packaging. Therefore, she expects the community becomes more economically independent and free from poverty. She is now acting as the head of the Energy and Environment Laboratory-ITS, a centralized laboratory in ITS that provide service to various analysis related to (but also not limited to) the energy and environment.
